PROGRAM DESCRIPTION


A 2-week tour of London, York and Edinburgh with focus on the history of medicine through the lens of anthropology and the humanities. As we journey across the UK, we’ll explore the world of bodies, as they have existed in the rise of anatomical education, surgical experimentation, religious relic and literary phenomenon. Along the way, students will have time to roam cobbled streets surrounded by stunning architecture, explore cozy pubs and coffeehouses, and visit historical sites that make the UK one of the most desired destinations in the world.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The short-term accommodations normally include twin ensuite rooms.  Triple and quad are subject to availability.  Air-conditioning in accommodations are normally not available in the UK.  Breakfast inclusion as stated in porgram details (green sheet).
 

ELIGIBILTY

  • Current student eligible to enroll in ETSU courses,
  • Good academic standing as defined by ETSU,
  • No current disciplinary sanctions as verified by the ETSU office of student conduct (or equivalent).  Students who become ineligible to attend the program after applying due to disciplinary sanctions will be subject to standard program cost penalty rates. Students are responsible for notifying the CCSA when they become aware of this ineligibility. For eligibility questions pertaining to disciplinary sanctions, students should contact the home campus.
  • Students must complete home campus application prior to being registered in this course,
  • Student must possess passport book valid for a least six (6) months after return date, 
  • Students must complete pre-departure orientations,
  • Full payment prior to departure, and
  • Permission of instructor(s) is required. 

Participants younger than 18 will require a parent/guardian to accompanying as a reduced fee.  Additional approvals will also be needed per international travel regulation, CCSA, and ETSU requirements.
