Program Description:

While Shakespeare may have been referring to life in general when he famously wrote, “All the world’s a stage,” on the CCSA London Theatre Program you will have the opportunity to experience London live!?From your home base in a four-star central London hotel, explore London’s vibrant theatre scene. As an exclusive addition to the London Theatre program, you will attend several live performances.

Included are several class-specific activities plus a day trip to such locations as Bath, Stonehenge & Salisbury, Canterbury & Dover or Stratford & Warwick.

The price of this CCSA program includes:

  • accommodations in twin rooms with the occasional use of multi-bedded rooms
  • local transport passes in London
  • All required program excursions
  • Course-related activities and entrances
  • Ground transportation for course activities
  • Daily breakfast and some additional meals
  • Health and emergency evacuation insurance
  • Program directors and staff on-site 24/7
 

Optional Group Travel:

A GROUP TRAVEL OPTION through CCSA is available at additional cost and includes:

  • Round-trip air transportation from one of CCSA's designated departure cities; round-trip air transportation from other cities may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Round trip shuttle service between the destination/departure airport(s) and the accommodation sites.
Travel with friends and other participants on this program as a group all the way to your destination! If this is your first time abroad (or even flying!) we highly recommend you travel as part of the group. Round-trip air transportation from cities otherthan CCSA-designated airports may be considered on a case-by-case basis at an additional cost.

Theatre / English Language and Literature

Beyond the Footligthts: Theatrical Tradition in Britain.
Course Description: This course examines the rich heritage of theatrical production in Britain from the medieval to the current West End stage. Included will be backstage tours of British theatre and concert halls, as well as discussions with London theatre critic Matt Wolf. Emphasis will be placed on the difference between British and American theatre practice and production. This exploration will culminate in the viewing of selected theatre productions. In addition students will have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of London, which will provide inspiration for future artistic endeavors.
